Group Bookings
You may have read our group bookings guide article which covered making group bookings at hotels and the various ways that you can go about doing it. For more background on group reservations at hotels and the reasons why prices, contracts and rules change if there are more than eight of you on a booking, then take a look at the article, otherwise please find below our recommendations for you.
Group Travel Reservations
In the majority of cases, when you have a group of eight or more people to book rooms for, the hotel will consider it a group booking. This will mean that you would be faced with selecting one of the following options:
- Option 1 – Make multiple individual bookings through an internet provider such as Hotel Desk, totalling the number of rooms you require.
- Cheap, discounted internet rates but possibly variable rates/hotels due to the bookings being made separately.
- Option 2 – Make group bookings direct with the hotel.
- Simplest route, most direct, but likely to pay a higher room rate and be required to sign a contract committing to the rooms.
- Option 3 – Request a Travel agent or online provider such as Hotel Desk, to negotiate a group rate on your behalf.
- Group bookings would mean lower rates than going direct to the hotel, plus a contract negotiated on your behalf.
